Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Sadbhavna Puraskar are given to those individuals and institutions who have ensured peace, communal harmony and national unity. These subjects are always celebratory in nature and will continue to be in the future. These subjects become more important when politics of naxalism, hate, polarization, prejudice takes place. The political life of Rajiv Gandhi was ended in a very brutal way. But even during his short political career, he has delivered countless achievements. He was very sensitive to topics such as Religion, caste, culture, diversity which would be an integrating factor of India. He was totally committed to women empowerment. He gave 1/3 reservation to the women of the country in Panchayats and Nagarpalikas. In 1989, it was because of Rajiv Gandhi when citizens older then 18 years which included women consisting of 50% were given right to vote. There is a saying that, “When you educate a man, you just educate an individual but when you educate a women, you educate the whole family and also all the coming generations”
